The process starting on the date of the deceased’s death and ending on the date the deceased’s affairs are finalised by his personal representatives. During the administration period, the personal representatives gather in all of the deceased’s assets, pay all the debts of the estate and then distribute the estate in accordance with the deceased’s will, or (if there is no valid will) in accordance with the intestacy rules.
