With effect from 15 February 2017, it will be mandatory for all Notaries Public to issue a Notarial Certificate for each document attested by the Notary Public, or in connection with which the Notary Public has administered an oath or affirmation, in exercise of the Notary Public’s powers and functions as a Notary Public. Previously, the requirement of a Notarial Certificate is dependent on the Foreign Agency’s requirement, and the issuance of Notarial Certificate is not compulsory.
A Notarial Certificate must be secured, to the document for which the Notarial Certificate is issued, and be submitted to the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) for authentication.
Please be advised that the Statutory Prescribed fee for a Notarial Certificate is $75.00, and SAL’s Authentication service is $42.80 (Normal Service) or $128.40 (Express Service). Please note that the prescribed fees may change from time to time.
We will revise our Quote Forms for Notary Public with effect from 15 February 2017.
